1. About Somniary

Somniary ("the Service") is an EU-based service operated from the Czech Republic. By using somniary.com, you agree to these Terms.

2. What Somniary is, and what it is not

Somniary IS: An AI dream interpretation tool grounded in Jungian psychology and neuroscience. A resource for self-reflection and creative exploration. A reference library of dream symbols.

Somniary IS NOT: Therapy or counseling. A diagnostic tool. Fortune-telling or prediction. If you are experiencing distress, please contact a professional. In the United States: 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, call or text). In the United Kingdom and Ireland: 116 123 (Samaritans). In the Czech Republic: 116 123 (Linka důvěry) or 116 111 (Linka bezpečí for children and young people). Anywhere else, findahelpline.com lists free and confidential lines by country.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Somniary.

4. Your account

Free use requires no account. If you register, you are responsible for your credentials and account activity. Delete your account anytime at hello@somniary.com.

5. Acceptable use

Do not: submit illegal or abusive content; reverse-engineer our AI prompts; use bots or scrapers; resell interpretations commercially; generate harmful content; misrepresent our output as professional advice. We may suspend access for violations.

6. Intellectual property

Our content (design, text, symbols, prompts, brand) is our intellectual property. Your dream text belongs to you and we claim no ownership. On the free tier we do not store it; on a paid plan a dream you write while signed in is saved to your journal, and it stays yours to export or delete. AI interpretations are for your personal, non-commercial use.

7. Paid subscriptions

Prices are shown tax-exclusive. Where VAT applies to your country under EU rules, it is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay. Subscriptions billed through Stripe renew automatically. Cancel anytime, access continues until the end of the billing period.

Right of withdrawal

Under EU law (Directive 2011/83/EU, §1829 of the Czech Civil Code), you may withdraw from a subscription within 14 days of purchase. By clicking "Subscribe" you ask us to start the service at once. If you then withdraw within those 14 days, we refund the price minus a proportionate amount for the days the service was already provided (Article 14(3) of the Directive, §1834 of the Czech Civil Code). To withdraw: email hello@somniary.com with your name, purchase email, and date, or use the model text below. Confirmation within 3 business days, refund within 14 days.

Model withdrawal text you can copy into an email: "I hereby withdraw from my Somniary subscription. Name: ___. Email used at purchase: ___. Date of purchase: ___."

If a payment does not go through

If a renewal payment fails, our payment processor retries it over the following days and lets you know so you can update your card. Your access continues while those attempts are running. If they all fail, the subscription ends and your plan reverts to the free reading. Your journal and everything in it stay where they are, encrypted, and picking a plan back up restores access to them.

If you open a payment dispute or chargeback with your bank, the subscription ends at that point. Your journal is not deleted. If the dispute was a mistake, write to hello@somniary.com and we will put things back.

Fair use on unlimited plans

Companion and Reverie readings and follow-ups carry no product limit for human reflection. A fair-use ceiling protects the service from automated or abusive use: currently 40 readings and 150 follow-ups per day, and 200 readings and 600 follow-ups per calendar month. These numbers sit far above any honest rhythm of journaling; if you ever meet them in genuine use, write to hello@somniary.com and we will raise them for you.

Gift purchases

A gift is a one-time payment for a fixed period of Companion (3, 6, or 12 months). We email the recipient a personal redemption link; redeeming adds the gifted months to their account, stacking onto any months already gifted. A gift never renews or charges anyone again, access simply ends when the gifted time runs out. Until the code is redeemed, the buyer may withdraw within 14 days of purchase for a full refund; a redeemed code cannot be returned.

8. Availability

We aim for 24/7 availability but cannot guarantee it. Features may be modified with reasonable notice.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Somniary is provided "as is" without warranties. AI interpretations are probabilistic and subjective, a starting point for reflection, not definitive answers. Our full methodology is described on the methodology page.

10. Limitation of liability

Liability is limited to amounts paid in the preceding 12 months. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. This does not affect your statutory EU consumer rights.

11. Your responsibility

You are responsible for how you use Somniary’s output. Our interpretations are AI-generated reflections intended for personal self-exploration, they are not professional advice of any kind. You agree not to present Somniary’s output as therapy, medical diagnosis, or professional counseling. If you share or republish interpretations, you are responsible for making clear that they are AI-generated and not a substitute for qualified professional guidance. Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights as an EU consumer.

12. Governing law and disputes

Governed by Czech law. Contact hello@somniary.com first for informal resolution. Otherwise: competent Czech courts. Out-of-court disputes: Czech Trade Inspection Authority (ČOI), Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Praha 2. EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

13. Changes

Material changes announced 30 days in advance. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
