Dream Symbol Encyclopedia
43 archetypal dream symbols, each analyzed through Jungian psychology, cultural traditions, and modern neuroscience.
Dream symbols are the images a dreaming mind keeps returning to: water, snakes, teeth, houses, falling. They are not a fixed code. The same image can carry different meanings for different dreamers, and your own associations with it come first.
Some images do repeat across cultures and centuries. Jung read that recurrence as evidence of shared human patterns he called archetypes; sleep science reads it more plainly, as similar brains working through similar worries at night. Science has not settled which reading is right, and either way the practical point stands: a symbol in a dream raises a question about your waking life, it does not deliver a verdict about your future.
That is why this encyclopedia is not a dictionary of fixed meanings. Each of the 43 pages below reads one symbol through several honest lenses, Jungian psychology, world traditions, and what sleep research can and cannot say, and every page leaves the last word to you. Start with the symbol your dream brought, or bring the whole dream to the free dream reader and let it ask about your associations directly.
